YOUR PRIVACY

Privacy notice

This notice explains how Canopy handles personal information when you contact us or subscribe to our newsletter. Last updated: 12 October 2026.

Who we are

Canopy: Sustainability Consulting Limited is the sustainability consultancy responsible for the personal information described in this notice. For privacy questions or requests, contact mail@canopyconsulting.co.

Information we collect

When you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, organisation and message, including any personal information you choose to share. Please do not include sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your enquiry.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your first name, last name and email address, together with information relating to your subscription and consent.

How we use your information

We use enquiry information to respond, understand your requirements and discuss working together. Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries; where relevant, we may also process information to take steps at your request before entering a contract.

We send newsletter updates with your consent. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to the newsletter. You can withdraw newsletter consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email.

Service providers and international processing

We use Framer to host this website and process enquiry submissions, and Mailchimp to manage newsletter subscriptions and send updates. These providers process information under their applicable service terms and data protection arrangements.

Some processing may take place outside the UK. Where required, transfers must be covered by an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards. Contact us if you would like more information about the arrangements relevant to your data.

Keeping your information

We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including managing enquiries and business relationships, meeting legal obligations and dealing with disputes. Newsletter information is retained while you remain subscribed; limited suppression records may be kept to respect an unsubscribe request.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct or delete your information, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive a portable copy of information. You may withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To make a request, email mail@canopyconsulting.co. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Third-party services and updates

Newsletter submission opens a Mailchimp page, which is subject to Mailchimp’s privacy and cookie information. External websites linked from this site have their own policies.

We may update this notice as our services or data practices change. The latest version will be available on this page.
